More good news on good governance

Cr Kris Bolam again reaches out to the community.
Cr Kris Bolam continued his work on consultation and engagement by submitting a Notice of Motion to "institutionalise" councillor Interaction with the community. His NoM was an inclusion in the Councillor "Code of Conduct", that Ward Meetings are an 'expectation' of councillor "duty".
Cr Bolam's NoM was amplified when an additonal clause was resolved, cementing Ward Meetings in the Council Plan for 2009 -2013.
The really good sign is that these undertakings are UNANIMOUS.
NOM637 - Ward Meetings
On Friday, 24 April, 2009, Cr. Kris Bolam gave notice of his intention to move the following
Motion.
" That the Councillor Code of Conduct be altered to include the expectation that ward
meetings (per each ward) are recognised and to be conducted at least every quarter."
Comments from General Manager Corporate
The draft Code of Conduct is due to come back to Council for formal consideration in the near
future. If Council is agreeable to the proposal, a Clause to this effect can be inserted into the
Code for adoption by Council.
